98 year old dobri dobrev, a man who lost his hearing in the second world war, walks 10 kilometers from his village in his homemade clothes and leather shoes to the city of sofia, where he spends the day begging for money.
though a well recognized fixture around several of the city’s chruches, known for his prostrations of thanks to all donors, it was only recently discovered that he has donated every penny he has collected — over 40,000 euros — towards the restoration of decaying bulgarian monasteries and churches and the utility bills of orphanages, living entirely off his monthly state pension of 80 euros and the kindness of others.
this is beautiful.

So, is this close to the truth now, do you think?
Yep.
The irony, of course, is that the same people who think this way tend to want women to be good only for sex. There’s no winning.
Y’know, I never thought I’d reblog a comic by Tom Preston of all people, but this comic and its commentary are pretty much accurate.
Damn, America. You cray.
Most principled conservatives, and any libertarian does not want to pay for your birth control because it is an assault on liberty to be paying for your personal decisions. I don’t care why you take birth control, and personally I think it does many great things (as well as some bad ones) it’s simply wrong for my taxes to be going towards funding you because I don’t have a say in the matter and it is far outside the scope of proper government. They don’t want to pay for someone else’s birth control; they don’t want to pay for someone else’s viagra; they don’t wan’t to pay for any of someone else’s lifestyle choices. It has nothing to do with sex or hating sluts or women. It’s simply just wrong to force someone to fund your life.
I don’t want to pay for war. We’re gonna end up paying for things we don’t want to. That’s inevitable. Might as well make it for the good of civilians and not Congress. Besides, a woman should not be punished for having a womb.
